Call for Abstracts

The GESGB/HGS Africa conference has built a reputation for hosting high quality subsurface focused technical talks on activity in Africa.

The GESGB Africa Technical Committee invites you to submit an abstract for the programme. We are looking for talks and posters that cover the subsurface of Africa and its role in supplying the global energy market as our theme for 2023 is “Unlocking African Energy to Power the Future“.

Submissions are welcome on all aspects of this theme with suggested topics including (but not limited to) upcoming exploration wells, Africa’s role in supplying LNG to the world, near-field exploration success, advances in geothermal prospecting, new technologies, CCUS potential and regional geological insights.

Your research could be featured on the agenda, giving you a platform to present your work to a global audience. You also have the opportunity to win one of the prestigious awards for technical excellence for the best oral, poster and student presentations.

Abstract submission deadline: Friday 28 April 2023
